Corporate hypocrisy

Juxtaposing the first image with the company’s website tells a little story about corporate culture that I’ve been mulling over lately. The marketing materials all give this lovely polished picture of “sustainability” and “respect for the people and resources that underpin [the company’s] success”.

These kinds of “earth friendly” ad nauseam sales tactics have become the mantra of marketers, to the point where the original hippies are like, woah, wait a second dude, you can’t use earth day to sell more stuff!

But in this particular case, the actual destruction of goods that are perfectly serviceable and wanted by someone in the world (just ask anyone over at TOMS Shoes) is… justice? Really? The image came from an article about knockoffs. Why can’t they just get volunteers to scrape their precious logo off with a razor so someone can use those?
